The conciliation between work, family and personal life is a new issue in the Spanish collective bargaining. In our opinion, the European Employment Strategy has played an important role in the dissemination of this topic, called as «spill-over effect». Anyway, the social actors have different conceptions about the conciliation. From Human Resource of companies usually trend to managing this topic as an element of differentiation of work force, according with different levels, qualification and skill. On the contrary, trade unions and work council tray to manage this topic, as an aspect of collective action but often the conciliation is also understood as an expression of personals and labour situations so match different. Also the aim of unions is to manage this topic as a progress of «personal» rights

Th1/Th2 Differentiation and B Cell Function by the Atypical PKCs and Their Regulators

The members of the atypical Protein Kinase Cs (aPKC) kinase subfamily, PKCζ and PKCλ/ɩ, as well as their adapters, p62 and Par-6, form part of the PB1-domain-containing group of signaling regulators. Both adapters serve to locate through heterotypic interactions the aPKCs into the NF-κB and cell polarity pathways, respectively. Both signaling cascades have been critically implicated in T cell function in vitro and in vivo. The analysis of gene-knockout (KO) mice deficient in the different PB1 molecules is providing more definitive information on the actual role that the aPKCs and other PB1-containing molecules play in B cell biology and T cell polarity, survival, and differentiation toward the different effector lineages in vivo and at the cellular ex vivo level. Here we discuss recent data generated from the analysis of KO mice linking the control of cell polarity by PKCλ/ɩ and PKCζ, their adapter p62, and the Par-4 inhibitor, in the control of B and T cell signaling and differentiation. Altogether, these genetic and biochemical evidences reveal the existence of a PB1-orchestrated signaling network that acts to control Th2 differentiation in vitro and in vivo, and the gene transcriptional programs that are essential during the B cell maturation and function and Th2 differentiation. This work was funded by grants SAF2011-27330 and INDISNET 01592006 from the Spanish Ministry of Economy and Competitiveness, and Comunidad de Madrid, respectively, to Pilar Martín, and R01AI072581 from the National Institutes of Health to Jorge Moscat.S

Echinoderms diversity in the Southwestern Atlantic

Studies of biodiversity of echinoderms from South America have increased in recent years. Here we summarize sampling done on three expeditions along the Argentinean coast (35º - 55º S) and near the Antarctic Peninsula. The first campaign, Mejillón II (M-II; 2009), was carried out between 35º - 39º S and covered a depth range between 10 to 140 m. The second was part of the Summer Antarctic Campaign 2011 (CAV-III; 2011) that took place around the Antarctic Peninsula, South Shetland and South Orkney Islands (depth range between 67 to 754 m). The last cruise was the final stretch of the Summer Antarctic Campaign 2011 (CAV-IV; 2011), from 39º - 55º S and between 30 - 140 m depth. As result, 74 stations have been studied, of which 68 had at least one echinoderm specimen. From the total number of stations, the occurrence percentages for each class were Asteroidea (68 %), Echinoidea (64 %), Ophiuroidea (55 %), Holothuroidea (51 %) and Crinoidea (20 %). In the M-II campaign, echinoderms were presented in 94 % of the sampled stations, with Echinoidea most frequent (74 %). In the CAV-III campaign echinoderms were presented in all the stations; Ophiuroidea were found in all stations. The lowest occurrence of echinoderms was found in the CAV-IV campaign (82 %), where Asteroidea was present in the 73 % of the samples, and crinoids were absent.Fil: Martinez, Mariano Ignacio. This article examines five hypotheses related to the development and implementation of the Work Life Balance Law through collective bargaining, and to the meaning that the notion of work life balance acquires to the different social actors. The results of the research suggest that while the European employment policy plays an «inferred effect» of this issue, it keeps a secondary place in the collective bargaining. Also while trade unions understand the notion of work life balance as a question to be managed through collective bargaining, employers place it in the domain of the individualized management characteristic of the human resources policy
